Sheridan took a 31-7 halftime lead on Gillette in Saturday’s Wyoming Class 4A state high school football championship game, but the second half was a different story. After moving the lead to 38-14 in the third quarter, Sheridan needed to hang-on for a 38-31 victory, giving the school its first state high school football title since 2011.
Sheridan quarterback Blake Godwin was 23-of-36 for 319 yards and three touchdowns.
