Shiner wins second straight Texas high school football championship

Shiner High School is celebrating back-to-back Texas high school football titles. Wednesday night at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, Shiner beat Hawley 47-12 to win the Texas Class 2A Division I state championship.

The Brooks Brothers, no not the clothing line, led the way for Comanches. Doug and Dalton led a strong ground game by rushing for a combined 404 yards.

Doug Brooks ran for 210 yards and two scores, while Dalton Brooks scored three touchdowns will rushing for 194 yards. Dalton also had 63 receiving yards and had an interception on defense.

Both teams entered the game with perfect 15-0 records.
