WFAA-TV is reporting that Skyline has named former offensive coordinator Derick Roberson as the program’s new head football coach. Roberson takes over for Reggie Samples, who left in December to become Duncanville‘s new head coach.
After being Skyline’s offensive coordinator for 10 years, Roberson left to become the head coach at Bryan Adams High School from 2008 to 2012. In those five years, Bryan Adams went 20-32 with three playoff appearances.
Roberson takes over Skyline, which has amassed a 60-9 record over the past five years. Last season, Skyline advanced to the 6A-I state semifinals, losing to eventual three-time state and national champ Allen. Skyline finished #14 in High School Football America’s Top 25.
