Slinger captures Wisconsin Division 2 high school football championship

Slinger, No. 3 in the High School Football America Wisconsin Top 10 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, is the 2024 Division 2 state champ. The Owls won their second overall football championship by battling back from a 24-14 halftime deficit to beat Rice Lake 31-30 at Camp Randall Stadium at the University of Wisconsin.

Leading the way was quarterback Michael Thiede, who completed 12-of-15 passes for 181 yards and a touchdown. He also led the team in rushing with 48 yards and two scores.
