Smyrna wins Delaware 3A high school football title

After being stopped on its first drive, Smyrna scored on seven straight possessions on the way to a 52-7 win over Dover for the 2022 Delaware Class 3A championship.

Wide receiver Yamir Knight had a big game. He had his hand in four scores — ran for two, threw for one and caught one. Knight ran for 27 yards, caught four passes for 71 yards and threw for 27 yards.

The title is the fourth overall for the school.
