Mater Dei finished a perfect 15-0 last season, winning the CIF Open Division championship. IMG finished 8-0 with seven of those wins coming against teams in our national rankings. The Ascenders bring a 37-game win streak into this season.
This may be the only time these two teams meet because California’s governing body will vote on a new rule that will prohibit California high schools from playing schools like IMG.
