High school football is coming to SoFi Stadium, home of the NFL‘s Los Angeles Chargers and Los Angeles Rams, next month. Stadium officials have announced that longtime rivals Downey and Warren will battle each other on October 13. The Downey-Warren rivalry dates back to 1955.

The game will be part of “LA Bowl Friday Night Lights.” The winning team will be invited back to SoFi on December 16 to be honored during the LA Bowl, a college football bowl game between teams from the PAC-12 and Mountain West.

Last year, Warren beat their crosstown rivals 49-22, giving the Bears the Gateway League championship. Downey rebounded from that loss to win the CIF-Southern Section Division 4 championship.

Currently, Downey is 4-1. Warren is 3-2.
