The Soldotna Stars continue to advance history. Saturday, the Stars, the top team in the High School Football America Alaska Top 5, won their fifth straight Alaska Medium School state title with a 49-13 win over Palmer. The win also extended Soldotna’s state-record win streak to 49 straight.
Soldotna (10-0) won the state championship with Jersey Truesdell, a freshman quarterback at the helm of the team’s punishing ground game. The Anchorage Dispatch News reports that the Stars racked-up 400 yards in total offense with junior running back Brenner Furlong leading the way with 269 yards rushing and five touchdowns.
