Soldotna won its eighth straight Alaska high school football state championship Saturday with a 69-23 romp over Lathrop in the state’s Division II state title game in Anchorage. The Stars, who finish a perfect 9-0, scored on their first five possessions, plus added a Pick-6 in the victory that gave the school twelve all-time state titles.

In addition to beating all of its Alaska foes, the Stars also travelled to Southern California this year to pick-up a victory. Soldotna outscored its opponents 519-118 this year.
