South Fayette became the first Pennsylvania school to win back-to-back AA titles Saturday with a 28-16 win over Dunmore. The Lions pushed their win streak to 32 straight with their second straight undefeated season.
Usually South Fayette rides the arm of Brett Brumbaugh, who is Pennsylvania’s all-time leading passing yardage leader, but on Saturday, it was senior running back Hunter Hayes, who rushed for 263 yards and two touchdowns on 27 carries. Brumbaugh, who passed the 11,000 yard mark in the game, was only 8-of-18 for 120 yards, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Dumore finished 14-2.
