South Pointe jumped-out to a 23-0 lead against Gaffney on the way to a 47-26 in a battle of 2021 South Carolina high school football champs.

The 4A champs entered the game ranked No. 3 in our Preseason South Carolina Top 10, powered by NFL Play Football. Gaffney, the reigning 5A champ, was No. 1.

Both teams also were ranked in our preseason national rankings — Gaffney at No. 46 and South Pointe at No. 86
