Southfield A&T snaps No. 53 Belleville’s 38-game win streak to capture Michigan Division 1 championship

Belleville’s run of Michigan Division 1 high school football championships ends at two straight. Sunday, at Ford Field, home of the Detroit Lions, Southfield A&T won the 2023 state championship by beating the Tigers, who entered the game ranked No. 53 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.

The 36-32 win snapped Belleville’s 38-game win streak and gives Southfield A&T its first-ever high school football title.

Belleville entered the contest having only allowed 95 points all season long with five shutouts.
