For the first time this year, there’s a new No. 1 in the High School Football America Ohio Top 25 powered by NFL Play Football. St. Edward moves to the top of our statewide rankings after former No. 1 St. Xavier lost to Trinity out of Kentucky.

St. X falls to No. 2 after its one point loss to the Shamrocks.

This week, St. X will try to win the Greater Catholic League South championship when it plays No. 12 La Salle.

No. 6 St. Ignatius will try to rebound from its fourth straight loss to St. Edward when it plays No. 11 Archbishop Moeller, which suffered a one-point loss to No. 14 Elder.

The Greater Western Ohio Conference is up for grabs this weekend when No. 5 Springfield plays once-beaten and unranked Centerville. Both teams bring perfect league records into the game.

No. 8 Massillon Washington will welcome a top-notch out-of-state opponent this week. Canisius comes to Paul Brown Tiger Stadium with a 4-0 record and ranked No. 2 in our New York Top 10.

No. 15 Benedictine will also be playing an tough out-of-state when it hosts Cathedral Prep from Erie, Pennsylvania. Cathedral, which has won five overall Pennsylvania state titles, is coming-off a loss to McDowell last week.
