Last year, St. Frances Academy (Maryland) was forced to play a sub-par schedule after opponents in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association announced they wouldn’t play them. This year is a different story with SFA.

St. Frances, which brings a 23-game win streak into this year, announced its 2019 high school football schedule Monday. It includes four teams that finished last season in the High School Football America 100 national rankings.

The Panthers, who finished No. 52 in the HSFA rankings last year, will open on the road on August 24 against Miami Central (Florida), which was ranked No. 22 last year.

On September 14, SFA heads west to play two-time defending national champ Mater Dei (California) in the Trinity League vs. USA Showcase. Two weeks later, the Panthers will head to New Jersey to play Group 4 Non-Public state champ St. Joseph Regional (Montvale), which finished No. 15 in the 2018 HSFA 100.

St. Frances’ other Top 100 team is IMG Academy (Florida), which ended last season ranked No. 5. The Panthers and Ascenders will square-off on October 18.

IMG and Miami Central are two of four Florida opponents for the Panthers, who will also play Norland and Venice. Another big game for SFA is a home matchup with Illinois Class 7A 2018 quarterfinalist Simeon.

Below is SFA’s entire schedule as announced on the team’s Twitter account.
