Bishop Gorman‘s (Nevada) reign at the top of this year’s Top 25 Media Compilation Poll has ended.  The Gaels, who have been #1 all year long, have been passed by Southern California’s St. John Bosco in the latest rankings released on Wednesday.

St. John Bosco moves to the top spot after our algorithm ranking moved them from #3 to #2 this week in the High School Football America National Top 25, while Bishop Gorman actually fell two spots to #4.  MaxPreps also moved the Braves in-front of Gorman this week.  St. John Bosco is now ranked #1 by MaxPreps, NationalHSFootball.com and Prep Nation.

Bishop Gorman is now #2 in the media poll, followed by Colquitt County (Georgia) at #3.  The Packers flip-flopped with three-time defending national champ Allen (Texas), which is #4 this week, followed by Corona Centennial (California) at #5.

In addition to our poll, which is based on our proprietary algorithm, we include USA Today’s Super 25, MaxPreps’ Xcellent 25, NationalHSFootball.com’s HSFB 100 and PrepNation.com’s National Prep Poll.

The poll awards points on the basis of ranking.  For example, the #1 team receives 25 points, the #2 team receives 24 points and so forth.

Our media compilation poll is released every Wednesday.
