Since High School Football America began using its proprietary algorithm in 2013 to rank teams, only two teams — St. John Bosco (California) and Allen (Texas) — have finished every season in our Top 25. So, it stands to reason that they’re No. 1 and No. 2 in our compilation poll that looks at which teams have performed the best in our national rankings over the last six years.
St. John Bosco is No. 1 with 113 overall points. The poll awards points to a team on the basis of its ranking in each poll. For example, the No. 1 team receives 25 points, the No. 2 team receives 24 points and so forth.
The Braves have finished No. 2 twice (2013 and 2016), No. 3 last season, No. 13 in 2017 and No. 15 in 2014.
Two-time “mythical” national champ Allen has amassed 105 points. The Eagles also were co-champs in 2012 with John Curtis (Louisiana) when we did an opinion poll.
No. 3 De La Salle (California) and No. 4 Bishop Gorman (Nevada) are the only two teams to finish in five of our six algorithm Top 25’s. IMG Academy (Florida) rounds-out the Top 5.
