In what could be a preview of a late post-season CIF-Southern Section PAC-5 playoff game, St. John Bosco beat Bishop Amat in Saturday’s Surf City Passing Tournament in Huntington Beach.  It was a repeat of 2014 when the Braves beat the Lancers for the title in the 16-team 7-on-7 passing tournament that also featured a lineman competition.  St. John Bosco also captured the lineman part of the competition.

Both Amat and Bosco are getting plenty of national attention as contenders for preseason national Top 25 rankings.  High School Football America will release its national poll on August 1st.

Competing with the Braves and the Lancers were Aliso Niguel, Buena Park, Crespi, El Toro, Huntington Beach, King, Long Beach Wilson, Mission Hills, Orange Lutheran, Sacramento, San Clemente, Saugus, Tesoro and Torrey Pines.
