Let the postseason begin! The Class 6A Road to Hershey should be a fun one with plenty of teams entering the playoffs with impressive resumes.

At the top of the list is nationally-ranked St. Joseph’s Prep, ranked No. 1 in our Pennsylvania Top 25 that is created with our proprietary algorithm. The Hawks are currently ranked No. 7 in the High School Football America 100 national rankings.

Look for a postseason showdown between SJP and No. 2 Coatesville. Last year, the two met in the state semifinals where the Hawks stormed back from a 28-10 deficit to win a trip to Hershey with a 53-49 victory.

Out West, North Allegheny claimed the regular season top dog spot with a 27-7 victory over Pine-Richland. The Tigers head into the WPIAL postseason ranked No. 3 in our statewide rankings, while P-R drops from No. 3 to No. 4.

Harrisburg moves up two spots in the latest rankings to No. 5. The Cougars are the top-seed in District 3’s Class 6A playoffs. Harrisburg’s only loss this year is to Coatesville.

The shocker of the week happened Saturday in Bethlehem when arch-rival Liberty knocked-off previously unbeaten Freedom, which tumbles from No. 13 to No. 22. Freedom jumped out to a 10-0 lead before Liberty scored the last 29 points of the game in a 29-10 victory.
