Aside from a season-opening 17-14 loss to national-power IMG Academy (Florida), the Hawks rolled to eight straight wins behind a defense that allowed only 8.8 points per game. Four of those eight wins came against teams that entered the game ranked in the HSFA 300 national rankings.

In the latest national rankings, Prep is ranked No. 7. The Hawks will be trying to make it to their eighth straight state championship game this year.
