St. Joseph’s Prep No. 1 in Pennsylvania Top 25 high school football rankings

The High School Football America Pennsylvania Top 25 preseason poll finds St. Joseph’s Prep at the top of the rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. Last year, SJP saw its run of three straight 6A titles snapped by Mount Lebanon. Mt. Lebanon starts the season ranked No. 15 in our poll that is created with our proprietary algorithm celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.

On the national scene, St. Joe’s is No. 58 in the nation. The Hawks will open the season against three-time defending Florida 7A champ St. Thomas Aquinas. STA is ranked No. 7 in our preseason national rankings.

No. 3 Pittsburgh Central Catholic also has a big interstate game this week. The Vikings play No. 11 St. Edward, the reigning Division I Ohio state champ. The game will be played at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.

No. 12 Cathedral Prep will also play a nationally-ranked team from Ohio. The Ramblers take-on No. 69 Archbishop Hoban.
