St. Thomas Aquinas (Florida) is the top-ranked team in the first media compilation poll for the 2016 season.  The Raiders, who are ranked #1 in both the USA TODAY Super 25 and MaxPreps Xcellent 25, open the regular season this weekend against Booker T. Washington (Florida), which is ranked #16 in the comp poll.

High School Football America’s #1 team, St. John Bosco (California) is tied at #7 with Ohio’s Colerain (Ohio).

While Florida teams are 1-2 in our first poll with IMG Academy holding-down the #2 spot, there may be some changes after a huge weekend of upcoming games.  Nevada’s Bishop Gorman at #3 travels to Texas to take-on #5 Cedar Hill, while IMG will square-off with #4  Grayson from Georgia.  Both of those games will be televised by ESPN.

Our first compilation poll includes the aforementioned USA TODAY Super 25 and MaxPreps Xcellent 25.  We will add-in PrepNation.com, once it releases its first in-season poll.

The poll awards points to a team on the basis of its ranking in each poll.  For example, the #1 team receives 25 points, the #2 team receives 24 points and so forth.

Our media compilation poll is released every Tuesday.
