For the second time this year, Colerain (11-1) and St. Xavier (7-5) battled into overtime on Friday night, however, unlike their September 2nd match-up, St. X walked away with the victory.  The Blue Bombers beat Colerain, ranked #6 in the latest High School Football America Top 25, 29-23 by scoring 16 unanswered points in the final 13 minutes to force overtime.  The win sends St. X into the quarterfinal round of the Ohio Division I playoffs where it will face Sycamore.

In overtime, Colerain had the first possession, but missed a 34-yards field goal.  Then St. X scored on its very first play when Penn State-recruit Sean Clifford connected with Nicholas Moeller on a 20-yard TD pass.  It was Clifford’s third touchdown pass of the night.
