It won’t be No. 1 vs. No. 2 when St. Xavier plays St. Ignatius, but it will still be a huge game as the two teams that played for the 2016 Division I title meet on Saturday. The 1-2 showdown fell-off the table when then No. 19 Archbishop Moeller stunned the former No. 2 St. Ignatius last weekend. The Wildcats loss drops them to No. 3 and strengthens St. X’s hold on the top spot in the new High School Football America Ohio Top 25.

Meanwhile, Moeller (4-4) climbs from No. 19 to No. 13 with the win over St. Ignatius. The Crusaders can continue to ascend the rankings created with our proprietary algorithm if they can beat No. 2 St. Edward this week. Waiting in the wings in two weeks for St. Ed is its arch-rival St. Ignatius.
Elder jumps eight spots to No. 10 after it handed former No. 7 Winton Woods its first loss of the year 35-34. WW fell to No. 11.
Northmont climbs nine spots to No. 16 after beating previously unbeaten Centerville 21-14. The Elks fall eight spots to No. 18
Barberton enters the rankings at No. 25 this week.
