Starkville moves to the top of the first in-season High School Football America Mississippi Top 10

Starkville’s 40-28 victory over preseason No. 1 West Point moves the Yellow Jackets to the top spot in our first regular season High School Football America Mississippi Top 10. Starkville was led by 4-star quarterback Luke Altmyer, who has given his verbal to Florida State.

Altmyer tossed three first half TD passes, plus ripped-off a 74-yard scoring run.

West Point, the four-time defending state champs, tumble to No. 4 this week.

Clinton moves-up four spots to No. 3 in the rankings after an impressive 30-7 win over preseason No. 4 Brandon, which knocks the Bulldogs out of the statewide rankings created with our proprietary algorithm.

Madison-Ridgeland is up two this week to No. 7 after defeating Jackson Academy 20-10.
