The Top 10 stayed solid as a rock this past weekend, but change is on the horizon with the much anticipated Southern California-Nevada showdown between #6 St. John Bosco (California) and #7 Bishop Gorman (Nevada). Both teams have played tough interstate schedules to open the season.  While Gorman gets the home field advantage, Bosco gets the luxury of a week off to prepare for the Gaels.

There were no changes in the Top 10, but #5 DeSoto (Texas) improved its hold on its position with a very solid road win over previous #22 Cibolo Steele (Texas). The win was even more impressive since the Eagles were without quarterback Tristen Wallace, who broke his ankle in Week 2.  Sophomore Jaylin Nelson has filled-in well, leading the team to back-to-back victories.

Elder (Ohio), which knocked-off previous #11 St. Edward (Ohio) 21-14 moves into the poll at #22, while St. Ed moves to the Knocking on the Door list. Cibolo Steele also moves on to the honorable mention list along with former #24 Ben Davis (Indiana).

Ben Davis lost to defending Indiana 6A champ Warren Central, which moves the Warriors into the poll at #23.

Also entering the poll is Skyline (Texas) at #24 and Maryville (Tennessee) at #25.

Aside from St. Edward, Cibolo Steele and Ben Davis, Long Beach Poly (California) moves to the Knocking on the Door category.
