Jermaine Wiggins, a member of the New England Patriots first Super Bowl-winning team, is the new head high school football coach at Brockton High School. The seven-year NFL veteran caught the pass that set up Adam Vinatieri’s championship-winning 46-yard field goal against the St. Louis Rams in Super Bowl XXXVI.

Wiggins is also known for catching a game-high 10 passes for 68 yards the “Snow Bowl” win over Oakland Raiders in the 2001 AFC divisional round, which was the last game played in Foxborough Stadium.

The Boston native takes over for Peter Colombo, who retired this past fall with a 132-72 record over two decades. Colombo led Brockton to back-to-back Division 1 state championships in 2004 and 2005.

Wiggins attended East Boston High School where he played football and basketball. The school retired his number in 2011.

During his NFL career, Wiggins played in 107 games with 236 receptions and 14 touchdowns.
