As we told you back in July, St. John’s College High School from Washington, D.C. had the toughest high school football schedule in the nation. It’s the kind of schedule that can win the Cadets a national championship.

Well, after three weeks, SJC appears to have its eyes fixed on the national championship prize.

Saturday, the Cadets disposed of a High School Football America Top 10 team for the second straight week. Last week it was former No. 6 Hoover, this week St. John’s beat No. 8 Miami Central (Florida) in five overtimes to rise from No. 6 to No. 3 in the latest High School Football America 100 that is created with our proprietary algorithm. The Cadets began the year ranked No. 9 in our Preseason 100.

And, the toughies keep coming for SJC…on Saturday, St. John’s will host No. 6 IMG Academy (Florida).

Now, as far as the rest of this week’s Top 100, there are ten new teams entering the national rankings.

Three-time defending Class 3A Tennessee state champ Alcoa pulled-off the upset of the weekend, beating former No. 25 Maryville in the 90th edition of their hard-fought rivalry. That win catapulted the Tornadoes into The 100 at No. 47 and dropped the Rebels to No. 49 in the nation.

The other new entrants are: Cypress Ranch (Texas) at No. 81, McEachern (Georgia) at No. 86, Easton (Louisiana) at No. 92, Muskegon (Michigan) at No. 93, Archer (Georgia) at No. 94, Tampa Bay Tech (Florida) at No. 95, Longview (Texas) at No. 96, Jenks (Oklahoma) at No. 98 and Armwood (Florida) at No. 99. Archer, Armwood and McEachern all started the season in the Preseason 100.

There will be nine head-to-head matchups in the Top 100 this week:

No. 3 St. John’s College HS (Washington, DC) vs. No. 6 IMG Academy (Florida)

No. 5 Bergen Catholic (New Jersey) vs. No. 62 St. Peter’s Prep (New Jersey)
