Massillon Washington (Ohio) continues to close the gap on America’s all-time winner in high school football, the Valdosta Wildcats in Georgia. The Tigers are now within six wins of the south Georgia program after winning eleven games last year, while the Cats won nine.
Last season, both teams finished in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. Massillon Washington finished No. 82 in country, while Valdosta was ranked No. 157.
Heading into 2025, Massillon Washington owns 959 wins to Valdosta’s 965. Since the start of the 2020’s, the Tigers have won 31 more games than the Wildcats.
No. 3 on the list is Male High School in Kentucky. The Bulldogs sit at 957 wins after a 9-3 season that put the program No. 291 in the HSFA 300.
A seventh school entered the exclusive 900-win Club last season. Pennsylvania’s Mount Carmel won its 900th game at the end of August. They finished the season with 907 wins, which puts the Red Tornadoes at No. 6 on the all-time list.
Now, high school football fans will be thinking, what about Highland Park in Texas? They won their 900th in 2024.
The answer is that for the list below, High School Football America is using the records in the National Federation of High School State Associations’ Record Book.
HSFA recognizes that there are other sources that have different win totals. An example of this is in Texas where Joe Lee Smith has a website called Texas High School Football History. That website has Highland Park ranked as the Lone Star State’s all-time winner with 900.
It should be noted that the NFHS Record book has Amarillo and Temple, with 777 victories each, as the highest-ranked Texas teams. According to Texas High School Football History, Amarillo has 825 victories, while Temple has 807.

Football Friday Night is another website that has been tracking wins for years.
Another great source is the research done by Dr. Roger B. Saylor, who passed away more than a decade ago. He did a tremendous amount of work determining whether certain games were “true” high school football matchups.
In the early days, many high schools played games against local club teams or, in some cases, local colleges that were made-up of non-high school players.
Below are teams that are not listed on the NFHS list, but have 700-or-more wins, according to various sources.
