There was a lot of speculation about whether there would be high school football in Alaska this year, but we now know there will be state championships.
The Alaska School Activities Association has announced that eighteen of the state’s 25 schools playing football now will be battling for state gold in three divisions.
Below is the schedule announced by ASAA:

Division I
• Quarters October 16 or 17, 2020 at Higher Seed (West, South, Colony, East)
• Semis October 23 or 24, 2020 at Higher Seed
• Finals October 30, 2020 Location: Anchorage/Eagle River Area

Division II
• Semis October 17, 2020 Location: Soldotna and Lathrop
• Finals October 24, 2020 Location: Anchorage/Eagle River Area
