Four new teams enter “The Other 25”

The Other 25 welcomes four new teams this week — #36 Northwestern (Florida) #44 La Salle (Ohio), #48 The Woodlands (Texas) and #50 John Curtis Christian (Louisiana)

Northwestern moves into the national rankings with a 28-21 win over four-time Florida state champ and former #36 Booker T. Washington.

Two-time Ohio Division II champ La Salle re-enters the national rankings after beating former #43 St. Xavier, which gives the Lancers the upper-hand for the Greater Catholic League South Division.  The Lancers, who began the year ranked #29 in our National Top 50, are now 2-0 in league play, and can clinch the title with a win over Elder on October 28th.

The Woodlands make its first-ever appearance in our Top 50, which is created using our proprietary algorithm.  The Highlanders are 6-0 overall and 2-0 in District 12-6A heading into this weekend’s game against Oak Ridge, which is 2-1 in district play.  In three weeks, The Woodlands will face Montgomery, which is also 2-1 in district play coming into this weekend’s games.

John Curtis is is 5-0 coming into this weekend’s game against St. Augustine in a big Class 5A District 9 game.  St. Augustine leads the district with a 3-0 mark, while JCC is 2-0.
