The 2022 Florida high school football season is off to an incredible start with High School Football America 100 No. 18 Miami Central beating No. 7 IMG Academy 20-14. The Rockets trailed 14-6 at the half, but the defense threw a second half shutout to give the three-time defending Florida state champs a season opening victory.

LaWayne McCoy’s 34-yard Pick-6 was the game-winner.

The last time IMG lost to a Florida opponent was in the 2013 season when the Ascenders lost to Naples 21-14 in its season finale.
