Friday night, Buford made a point that its No. 2 ranking in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, is well-deserved. The Wolves, winners of three-straight Georgia state championships, got out to an early lead and never looked back on the way to a 39-27 win over No. 20 Mill Creek before about 10,000 fans.

Buford was led by Alabama-recruit Justice Haynes had a big game with 218 yards rushing and two touchdowns to take the lead in 7A Region 8.

Of Buford’s seven wins, five of them have come against teams that are currently ranked in the HSFA 300.
