Springfield Central’s streak of three straight Massachusetts high school football state championship is over. Friday night, at Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots, the Golden Eagles, ranked No. 248 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, lost to St. John’s Prep 13-0.

SJP’s defense was spectacular, shutting-out Central, which entered the game averaging 51.9 points per game.
