Top high school football defensive linemen in Class of 2024

gamestrat high school football sideline instant replay

There are five 5-star college football prospects in the Class of 2024 in the latest 247Sports Composite Rankings. Of those five, only one has made his verbal commitment. That’s the No. 3 overall player at the position, Justin Scott of Chicago’s St. Ignatius High School. The 6-4, 310-pounder has given his verbal to Ohio State.

Scott chose the Buckeyes over Georgia, Miami, Michigan and Notre Dame.

The top prospect is Williams Nwaneri of Lee’s Summit North in Missouri. Last year, Nwaneri recorded 12 sacks. On3 reports that Oklahoma has the inside track on the 6-6, 265-pounder.

Oklahoma also has the inside track to the No. 2 overall recruit, David Stone of IMG Academy (Florida). That’s probably since he began his high school career at Del City in the Sooner State before transferring to the Bradenton, Florida national power.

Eddrick Houston is the No. 4 overall DL. The 6-3, 255-pound Buford (Georgia) senior appears to be leaning toward Ohio State.

Buford is the top public school in the nation, according to the High School Football America national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The Wolves are ranked No. 7 overall in the HSFA 300.

The fifth and final 5-star recruit is Aydin Breland of top-ranked Mater Dei (California). Breland has 25 college scholarship offers.
