gamestrat high school football sideline instant replay

The top two high school football linebackers in the Class of 2024 will be going out of state to play college football, if their verbals hold.

Oak Ridge (Texas) linebacker Justin Williams is considered the No. 1 LB in the class, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. On Monday, Williams announced he would play his college football with the Georgia Bulldogs.

The 6-2, 210-pound, 5-star recruit had an outstanding junior season. Williams recorded 105 tackles with 18 for loss and 8.5 sacks. He was named the Texas District 13-6A Defensive Player of the Year.

The No. 2 linebacker in America is from Georgia. However, Sammy Brown of Jefferson High will travel north to play collegiately at Clemson. The 5-star recruit, who plays just outside of Athens, chose the Tigers over the Bulldogs, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Tennessee.

The third 5-star recruit in the 247 Composite Rankings is Demarcus Riddick of Chilton County in Alabama. He’ll be staying in-state to play at Auburn.
