The debate is over on whether junior standout Rashan Gary can play for Paramus Catholic.

The New Jersey Interscholastic Athletic Association’s Eligibility Appeals Committee voted 5-0 Thursday to allow Gary, who transferred from Scotch Plains-Fanwood this summer, eligible to play immediately for the Paladins, who open the season Saturday at Gilman in Maryland. The Star-Ledger reports that Scotch Plains lost its argument that Gary had been recruited by Paramus Catholic, which has won the last two New Jersey Non-Public Group 4 state titles.
