While there’s plenty of talk about the Kelce brothers (Jason and Travis) in Super Bowl 57 Sunday in Phoenix, Arizona, Charleston, South Carolina will have fun watching two former Fort Dorchester alums battling for National Football League supremacy.

Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Carlos Dunlap (No. 8) and Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Robert Quinn (No. 99) played together for the Patriots with Dunlap graduating in 2007 and Quinn in 2008.

Dunlap was considered a 5-star recruit at FD. During his junior year, he made 103 tackles with 22 for loss. As a senior, he recorded 105 tackles, 35 for loss. Dunlap had 33 sacks in his final two seasons.

Not only was Quinn a stud on the football field, but he was also special in the wrestling circle. He won three South Carolina 4A heavyweight state championships.

Quinn’s senior season was cut-short after undergoing brain surgery to remove a benign tumor.

Last year, Fort Dorchester finished No. 169 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.
