UMS-Wright’s Terry Curtis becomes Alabama’s all-time winner in high school football coaching victories

There’s a new all-time leader in Alabama high school football coaching victories.

Terry Curtis, the legendary head coach at UMS-Wright, moves to No. 1 in the state after picking-up his 347th victory Friday night with a 56-13 win over Headland in the opening round of the 5A playoffs. The victory moves the 72-year old Curtis by Buddy Anderson (Vestavia Hills), who retired after the 2020 season.

According to the Alabama High School Football Historical Society, Curtis’ record stands at 347-92.
