Venice biggest mover in latest Florida Top 25

Venice jumps from No. 14 to No. 6 in the latest High School Football America Florida Top 25 powered by NFL Play Football. The Indians make the move after their second straight win over a ranked opponent.

Last week, Venice edged No. 15 Cocoa 21-20 to move to 2-0. Nationally, the Indians are ranked No. 35 in the High School Football America 100.

The top sixteen teams in our statewide rankings are also in our national Top 100.

Taking center state on this week’s schedule is the battle between top-ranked IMG Academy and No. 14 Jones (Orlando). Jones is coming-off a heart-breaking 52-49 four overtime loss to Edgewater, which climbs five spot this week to No. 13.

The IMG/Jones game will have an impact on our national rankings. IMG is No. 4 in the nation, while Jones is ranked No. 73.

No. 12 Chaminade-Madonna will try to improve its national-standing when it travels to Georgia to face No. 23 Buford. The Lions are currently ranked No. 59 in America.
