According to the Burlington Free Press, there will be no tackle high school football in Vermont this fall. However, the newspaper reports that the Vermont Principals’ Association is considering a 7-on-7 football as an alternative.

Last month, the VPA delayed the start of tackle football until schools opened in late August and early September.

The VPA will require Fall sports athletes to wear face coverings, except cross country. All practices can begin September 8.

Vermont is the 13th state to not play high school football during the Fall sports season.
