Vero Beach’s Florida state record regular season win streak snapped at 65 by Treasure Coast

Treasure Coast is celebrating snapping Vero Beach’s state-record 65-game win streak. Friday night, the Titans, ranked No. 25 in the High School Football America Florida Top 25, edged Vero Beach, ranked No. 22, 17-16.

The game came-down to the final play after Treasure Coast quarterback Turk Watkins gave the Titans (5-0) a 17-10 lead with 1:34 to go in the game on his 1-yard touchdown run.

After driving to the TC 44-yard line, Vero Beach used a hook-and-ladder with quarterback Jackson Nairn completing a pass to wide receiver Tyler Wrenn, who then pitched the ball to running back Bobby McMillian who scored by make it 17-16.

Vero Beach went for two and the win, but the 2-point failed giving the Titans the 17-16 win.
