Over the past decade, Soldotna has been the cream of the crop of Alaska high school football. Head coach Galen Brantley, Jr., a Soldotna alum, has led the Stars to 11 state titles in the last 14 years.

Coming into 2021, the Stars have won eight straight Division II state championships. Last year’s championships were cancelled due to COVID-19.

Brantley’s record is 129-6 with twelve overall state championships.

Soldotna brings a 22-game win streak into the 2021 season. The streak started after the Stars’ state record 59-game win streak was snapped during the opening weekend of the 2018 season.
