Vote for the Detroit Lions High School Coach of the Year

Beginning today, fans can begin voting for the Detroit Lions 2023 High School Coach of the Year. In all, there are 18 finalists, 16 of whom will be coaching this weekend for a Michigan high school football championship at Ford Field, home of the Detroit Lions. The other two finalist are the 8-Player championship coaches.

Voting will be open through Sunday, November 26. At the conclusion of voting, the one coach who has the most online votes will receive one vote overall to go along with the votes of our 5 high school football media panelists. The votes will be tallied and the Detroit Lions High School Football Coach of the Year will be announced the week of November 27.

For the past 27 seasons, at the conclusion of the high school football season, the Detroit Lions have selected a High School Football Coach of the Year.

The winning coach’s school/athletic department receives a $3000 grant from the Detroit Lions and the NFL Foundation. This individual also becomes the Detroit Lions nominee for the Don Shula NFL High School Football Coach of the Year and will recognized in an on-field ceremony prior to the Detroit Lions-Denver Broncos game in mid-December.
