Waimea wins first-ever Hawaii high school football state championship

Using a strong ground game, Waimea beat King Kekaulike 45-6 for the school’s first-ever state football title. The Menehune rolled-up 443 yards on the ground in the First Hawaiian Bank Division II Football Championships at John Kauinana Stadium.

Kameron Apilado gained 228 on just 11 carries. He scored two second half touchdowns on runs of 70 and 85 yards.
