Alfred Failauga of Waipahu High is Hawaii’s new career rushing leader. Failauga broke the old record of 4,549 yards held by Vavae Malepeai of Mililani on Friday night against Leilehua. Malepeai is currently a junior at USC.
The 5-9, 190 pound senior set the record in the first quarter of a 23-13 loss. Failauga finished the night with 186 yards on 39 carries. He now has 4,681 yards.
