Charles H Flowers High School’s (Maryland) Dameon Powell is the Week 1 winner of the Washington Commanders High School Coach of the Week for the 2023 season. Powell has led the Jaguars to back-to-back state championship game appearances, losing to Quince Orchard both times.
Flowers enters ’23 ranked No. 10 in the High School Football America Maryland Top 10 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.
About Commanders HS Coach of the Week Award
The High School Coach of the Week program is a league-wide initiative designed to recognize area high school football coaches who continuously demonstrate hard work and dedication to their football programs, the health and safety of their players, and who make a difference in their communities. Each coach chosen throughout the high school football season will receive a $1,000 donation from the Washington Commanders Charitable Foundation to their football program.

1. Must be a high school football head coach in the District of Columbia, Commonwealth of Virginia, Prince George’s County, or Montgomery County
2. Nominee must not have won the Washington Commanders High School Coach of the Week award in the previous three (3) years
