Washington wins 40th South Dakota high school football title

Sioux Falls Washington continues to build on its national record for high school football state championships. Washington beat Brandon 41-31 Saturday to capture the Class 11AAA title, the 40th overall for Warriors, which is the most by any school in the nation.

The big play in the game was a 99-yard kickoff return by Thuro Reisdorfer that came after Brandon had taken a 31-28 lead in the third quarter.
