No. 1 Catholic Memorial and No. 3 Springfield Central lost to high-quality out-of-state opponents, but both hold their spots in the latest High School Football America Massachusetts Top 10, powered by NFL Play Football.
Catholic Memorial, the two-time defending state champs, lost 35-2 to Florida’s Cardinal Newman. The Knights entered the game ranked No. 212 in our national rankings. The loss knocked them out of the HSFA 300.
Springfield Central dropped a 31-14 decision to New York’s Iona Prep, currently ranked No. 114 nationally. This week, the Golden Eagles will try to get back into the win column when they travel to No. 4 Xaverian Brothers.
