No. 2 Mater Dei took one more step toward its April 17 showdown against top-ranked St. John Bosco with a hard-fought 24-17 win over No. 4 Servite. The Friars had the ball at Mater Dei’s 35-yard line, but on the last play of the game, the Monarchs’ defense stood tall to seal the victory.

New to this week’s rankings are La Habra at No. 23 and Chaminade at No. 25. Chaminade will test that new ranking against No. 8 Alemany in a Mission League showdown this week.

Simi Valley’s Grace Brethren drops-out the rankings after cancelling its season due to a low number of players. The Lancers had won back-to-back CIF-Southern Section titles in 2018 and 2019.
