For the third week in a row, there were several BIG head-to-head matchups in the High School Football America California Top 25 powered by NFL Play Football.

In Southern California, No. 3 Servite beat No. 7 Santa Margarita 48-21. Houston Thomas ran for 193 yards and 3 touchdowns in the win.

In NoCal, No. 6 De La Salle handed No. 16 Folsom its first loss of the season. The 31-10 win was a great defensive effort for DLS. Folsom entered the game averaging nearly 53 points a game.

No. 8 Los Alamitos picked-up a second big win, beating Edison (Huntington Beach) 35-28. The Griffins led 35-14 with over nine minutes to play.

Edison fought back to within a touchdown. At the end, Los Al needed a goal-line stand to move to the top of the Sunset League.

And, No. 9 Buchanan beat previously unbeaten Central (Fresno) 24-17 in a battle for the top of the Tri-River Athletic Conference. Central falls from No. 14 to No. 15 in the latest rankings.

There are five big head-to-head Top 25 matchups this week:

  • No. 2 St. John Bosco at No. 14 Orange Lutheran
  • No. 4 Corona Centennial at No. 10 Norco
  • No. 17 Corona del Mar at No. 21 Edison (Huntington Beach)
  • No. 24 Bishop Amat vs. No. 25 Alemany
